2024 Season Recap: Thanks for an Amazing Year!

November 14, 2024

The 2024 Season has come to an end and what a season it was! We’d first like to thank all of our customers who lodged and fished with us this season and taking your Alaskan Adventure with us! This season was an absolute blast and we are so grateful to be able to provide so much joy to our guests vacation while visiting Alaska.

Our fishing season kicked off in April and we took out over 3,000 guests this summer, with our most popular fishing option being the Full Day Offshore Halibut charter. The main target species on this trip is halibut but it’s not uncommon for anglers to catch other fish as well. A good portion of our trips saw bountiful amounts of Pacific Cod, Rockfish, and occasionally some salmon and ling cod. Unfortunately the salmon run for us wasn’t the best this season but we are hopeful that it means next year’s run is that much better. We also had a few surprise catches in May and August with a couple of Salmon Sharks caught but 2 lucky anglers!

We also ran a good portion of whale watching & glacier tours on our off days from fishing. Our 8 hour Kenai Fjords Sightseeing & Fishing combination charter was by far our most popular for the tours,  as it gave guests the best of both worlds by being able to view the national park up close from our boats as well as get a little bit of fishing time along the way. We generally spend 7 hours of the tour taking in the sights, stopping along the way to view any wildlife we come across like whales, sea lions, seals, puffins, and bald eagles to name a few. Our tour runs out of Resurrection Bay where we make a few stops including spire cove, eventually making our way out to the Chiswell Islands where we send an hour doing some light tackle fishing for Rockfish before making our way up into Aialik Bay to view Holgate Glacier which is an incredible sight in itself!

Although we are at the start of our offseason,  we have already gotten a good portion of reservations for the 2025 season. July is definitely the peak for tourism so if you’re thinking about visiting Alaska during that month then its best to start planning that before the new year. If you want to beat the tourism rush, May is a great option as traveling rates are more reasonable and rates for activities and lodging are considerably lower too! If you’re considering an Alaskan Vacation next summer, feel free to email us or give us a call with any questions you might have! Quit wishing and come fishing!
